Eye Care Services In Maricopa, AZ

At Desert EyeCare Center, we specialize in comprehensive vision care for the entire family. We perform routine eye exams, diagnose and treat eye disease, fit contact lenses, and provide a wide selection of frames, lenses, and sunglasses. Non-emergency and routine appointments are usually made in advance, though we do accept walk-in patients if time is available. Emergency eye concerns can be seen on a same day basis. If you have a medical concern or emergency, call us as soon as possible and we will try our best to see you the same day.

Comprehensive Exams for Adults

Our exams are so much more than a basic glasses prescription! We take the time to understand your concerns, medical history, and how you use your eyes on a daily basis. This allows us to offer customized vision solutions for your lifestyle. More importantly, we perform an in-depth examination of your ocular health to rule out sight-threatening conditions.

Our exams typically include a refraction to find your prescription for glasses as well as a dilated exam or Optomap retinal imaging to evaluate the internal structures of the eye looking for signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other eye disease. Periodic examinations are a vital aspect of preventative eye care. Without routine eye exams, many eye and vision problems go undetected since some eye disorders have no obvious symptoms.

Comprehensive Pediatric Exams for Children 4 and older

Being a family optometry practice means caring for kids too, and that’s just what we do! School and pediatrician screenings are not sufficient to recognize many vision problems; we recommend your child’s first exam be before kindergarten (or earlier if you suspect any problems). A thorough investigation of your child's overall health of the eye and visual system is important. Good eyesight is critical for a child’s life and achievements since success in school is closely tied to eye health. School demands intense visual involvement, including reading, writing, using computers, and blackboard/smartboard work.

Our comprehensive eye exams for children, ages four and up, include many of the same procedures that are performed on adults. Undiagnosed vision problems can be the cause of some learning difficulties. Having your child’s eyes examined early may help improve performance in both the classroom and in sports. Possible corrections include spectacles, contact lenses, and sports goggles. Pediatric patients ages 4-7 should see Dr. Lawrence.

Soft Contact Lens Evaluation

After you have completed your comprehensive examination, we can provide additional contact lens services to our patients. Our doctors take the time to fit you into contact lenses that best suit you and your lifestyle. We utilize the latest advances in material technology to find the most comfortable contact lens to fit your needs. We prescribe a wide array of soft contacts lenses including spherical, toric, multifocal, or monovision, daily, bi-monthly, or monthly soft disposable contact lenses.  Contact lens services and materials are not included as part of the comprehensive examination, additional fees and copays apply.

Eye Emergencies

Accidents happen, as do eye infections, itchy eyes and even your toddler poking you in the eye. We can take care of most urgent eye conditions, without the ER or urgent care waiting time or the expensive bill. We will try to see you as soon as possible and get you on your way to feeling better quickly.

Eye emergencies cover a range of incidents and conditions such as; trauma, scratches, foreign objects in the eye, burns, chemical exposure, eye infections, red eyes, and blunt injuries to the eye or eyelid.
